Welcome, Parents!
Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! I am so excited to have your student in class this year. My name is Ms. Simpson and I teach leadership, technology, and Yearbook. I am thrilled to have your student in my class this year and would like to take a moment to discuss how we can work together to ensure a productive and successful school year. As many of you probably know, moving to the middle school can be a big adjustment for most students. Students are expected to be more independent and take on more responsibility for their learning and their work. Students will still need a lot of support form home and school in order to feel well adjusted and able to take on the new challenges of middle school.
Please make sure that your student develops a successful homework routine and comes prepared with school supplies (including homework, folder, paper, and pencil) daily. Make sure to log in to Parent Connect weekly to check your student's grades and/or missing assignments. Talking to your student about their assignments and checking Parent Connect is an excellent way to make sure students are staying on top of their assignments, prepared for tests, and understand projects that are coming up. Checking our Newsletter and Calendar links will also keep you informed on assignments and projects that are coming up.
If you have any questions or comments please use the Contact Ms. Simpson link above. I encourage all of you to volunteer in the classroom and welcome all questions and comments, so please feel free to contact me any time.
